Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! This page will be updated with what is happening in the 6th grade art room.
6th grade true colors focuses on the elements of art: line, shape, form, value, space, color, and texture. Feel free to scroll through and check out some of the artwork students will be creating this year! Throughout the year, 6th grade learned about he elements of art. To wrap up the year, students created designs showing each of the elements of art in unique ways. These are a few of their final products!
6th grade students learned about the art form of PRINTMAKING, designed their own stamp, and printed it 4 times to create a radial print design! When the print is only printed once, it doesn't create that interesting of a design, but when it is rotated and printed 4 times, it creates a new image all together!
Corkran has an art show at the Glen Burnie Public Library!
Artwork will be on display from February 2nd in the evening through Sunday, February 26th. On Sunday, February 26th we are having a reception-- all students and families are welcome! It is from 1:00-5:00, please stop by anytime! (The library closes at 5:00.) You may also view the artwork anytime from 2/2-2/26. If students go to the show and take a "selfie" with the artwork to show me they were there, they will receive extra credit! All students attending the reception will also receive extra credit. Hope to see you there! Ms. Drummond 6th grade students learned about clay and glaze to create their own coil pots. Once they were bisque fired, the students glazed their clay and their coil pots went into the kiln a second time.
